Mohsen Bagherimehrab
I am currently a Staff Research Associate (since 2023) at the University of Toronto working with the group of Alan Aspuru-Guzik in the Department of Chemistry and Computer Science. Before that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the same group. I completed my PhD in Physics (in 2022) at the University of Calgary, where I worked with Barry Sanders on algorithmic quantum simulation. I also hold an MSc in Physics from Sharif University of Technology, where I worked on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computationContact

Research
My research centers around the theory of quantum information processing, especially quantum algorithms for scientific computing and their practical applications, to better understand the computational power of quantum computers. In particular, I am interested in the design, analysis, optimization, applications, and limitations of quantum algorithms for problems such as simulating quantum systems, differential equations, and linear algebra on a quantum computer. I am also interested in the role of randomness in quantum computation, and the synergy between machine learning and quantum computing.
